Caladesi Island State Park, named by coastal expert Dr. Stephen Leatherman, a.k.a. Dr. Beach, is only 45 minutes away. A visit to Caladesi Island will deliver the type of pristine beach you picture when dreaming up a perfect, peaceful beach getaway. Only accessible by boat and with no paved roads or vehicles, Caladesi Island offers a true island beach experience that includes cabana rentals, a marina and an onsite café. It was Fort De Soto State Park that received Dr. Beach’s Top Beach honors in 2005. Just 30 minutes from our resort, Fort De Soto offers a splendorous retreat with three miles of fine white sand beach, picnic facilities, a snack bar and two fishing piers.
